    The IPFW women's soccer team (1-6) fell 3-0 at Oxford, Ohio to Miami. Kelsey Dinges scored for the RedHawks in the 25th minute from a free kick deflection to give the hosts a one-goal advantage at halftime.

Gaines, Hyde honored

Basketball players Frank Gaines and Amanda Hyde were named the IPFW Athletes of the Year at the university's annual Athletics Awards Banquet on Sunday.

Gaines, who averaged 19.3 points and 3.8 rebounds, was named to the All-Summit League first team. He was also named the Senior Athlete of the Year.

Hyde, who averaged 18.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists, was chosen as the Summit League women's basketball player of the year, in addition to being named to the all-conference first team.

Volleyball player Tessa McGill was named the women's Senior Athlete of the Year. Freshmen of the year were soccer player Corey Tom (men) and volleyball player Hailie Ripley.
