Rio Grande Valley wins title

Rio Grande Valley defeated Santa Cruz 102-91 on Saturday to win the NBA Development League championship. It was the second time in four years that RGV has won the D-League title.

D.J. Kennedy led Rio Grande Valley with 27, while Glen Rice Jr. added 25 points and 13 rebounds.

Santa Cruz, which eliminated the Mad Ants, was led by Travis Leslie's 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Rio Grande Valley swept Santa Cruz in the best-of-three series.
