Bradley V. Waikel, 24, is accused of felony battery of a child younger than 14 resulting/causing serious bodily injury and of felony neglect, according to a statement issued Friday by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff’s detectives and officials from the Indiana Department of Child Services were contacted by the emergency room at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw shortly after noon Thursday about the boy.

The child was transferred from Kosciusko Community Hospital to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis with injuries to his head and groin area, the department said.
