Postponements 'frustrating' for coaches, players

Carroll baseball coach Dave Ginder had one word when describing the situation with the lousy weather and postponements this spring: "Frustrating."

The two-time state champion winning coach did expand on his "frustration" after the Chargers' 5-3 win over Class 3A No. 2 Norwell in 11 innings.

"We have finally played the last two nights, and we had a beautiful night tonight," he said Friday. "Hopefully we can get into a rhythm. There's been a lot of frustration and tired of 'hey, there's another rain out and another day in the gym.'"

Maybe because of the nice weather, the two teams decided they wanted to enjoy it by playing some extra innings.

"We had about two weeks there when we played maybe one or two games, and it was long breaks," said Carroll junior Matt Meihls, who scored the game-winning run against the Knights. "It is nice to get out on the field."
