Calhoun Street was closed Thursday morning in the 1700 block between Wallace and Murray streets as construction crews work to install an overhead pedestrian bridge from the Neighborhood Health Clinics to the new parking garage.

Calhoun closure begins

The Fort Wayne Traffic Engineering Department said that the closure in the Neighborhood Health Clinics area will begin Thursday and continue through May 10, weather permitting.

The closure will allow the contractor, Fetters Construction Inc, to construct an overhead pedestrian bridge from the clinics to the new parking garage across Calhoun.

The official detour for northbound traffic will use Wallace Street, Lafayette Street and Douglas Street. The southbound detour will use Douglas Street, Clinton Street and Wallace Street.
