Homebody

Tyler Eifert is as right as ham on rye.

The former Dwenger star and all-world Notre Dame tight end turned down an opportunity to go to New York for tonight's NFL draft, and I like his thinking. He wants to enjoy the evening, not be under the unblinking stare of the all-seeing teevees as the picks roll past. Really, who could possibly enjoy the sight of himself reacting to being taken/not taken with a certain pick?

So, Eifert will stay home instead, surrounded by 100 or so of his friends and family. It suits his understated nature, and, frankly, it's the way pretty much everyone would prefer to enjoy one of the great nights of their young lives.

I mean, who knows a bro-hug from Roger Goodell, anyway?
