Two people were in custody and a young child was taken into protective custody Tuesday after a meth lab was seized in the Etna Green area, police said.
Kosciusko County sheriff's deputies went to a home along Old Road 30, southeast of the town, about 3:45 p.m. to serve a warrant. When they arrived, one of the residents took them to what appeared to be an active one-pot method meth lab, according to a statement from the department.
Two other people inside, Kayla Anne Waltz, 25, of Etna Green, and Eric Michael Graham, 28, of Warsaw, were preliminarily charged with felony possession of a chemical reagent and/or precursors with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, the department said. Waltz was also arrested on the Kosciusko County warrant on a criminal conversion charge.
Waltz was being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on $12,000 bond and Graham was being held on $2,000 bond.
Police said a 4-year-old child was in the residence at the time and that items commonly used to make meth had been discarded in an outside burn barrel. The child was placed into the custody of the Department of Child Services.
