The DIY television network is proving a comfortable home for rappers turned renovators.

“Vanilla Ice Goes Amish” will debut on the network this year. Network executive Burton Jablin says the former rap star will live with an Amish community in Ohio to learn how they do construction. Vanilla Ice already has a renovation series on the network that will return for its fourth season this fall.

Psy continues to set records on YouTube.

The South Korean pop star hit another mark for viral views with his new single “Gentleman,” earning 38 million views in a single day as it set a blistering pace to 200 million views.

Kevin Allocca, YouTube’s trends manager, says “Gentleman” was viewed 38 million times April 14, surpassing the single-day record of 30 million set by the “KONY 2012” short film. It also holds the day-of-debut record with 18.5 million views.

Angelou recovering

One of Maya Angelou’s doctors says the poet and author is recovering at her North Carolina home following a brief hospitalization.

Dr. Jeff Williamson of the Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, N.C., says in letter dated Tuesday that, as leader of Angelou’s medical team, he has ordered the 85-year-old to forego any travel for the next three to four weeks.

The letter was sent to Angelou’s speaker’s bureau.

Butler University in Indianapolis announced Angelou had canceled an appearance scheduled for Thursday.
