TinCaps hang on for win

Mallex Smith went 3 for 4 and the TinCaps defeated Bowling Green 3-2 on Wednesday night.

In the top of the first, Fort Wayne's Gabriel Quintana's RBI double started the scoring. Diego Goris scored on a passed ball and Corey Adamson's RBI single gave Fort wayne a 3-0 lead.

Bowling Green (14-5) chipped away, getting Marty Gantt's sacrifice fly in the second innning and Gantt's RBI triple in the fourth.

Gantt was 1 for 3 in the game.

Fort Wayne (10-8) used four pitchers – Walker Weickel, John Hussey, Christopher Nunn and Roman Madrid – who combined to give up four hits and strike out eight batters. Madrid got the save after striking out two batters with a man on second in the bottom of the ninth.
