Trenton ceases operations

The Trenton Titans have ceased operations and will not compete in the 2013-14 season, the ECHL said Tuesday.

In a statement, the league said it appreciated "the support the team has received over the past 14 seasons from both the fans and the community."

All Trenton players on ECHL contracts, except those owed as future considerations, are unrestricted free agents, the statement said.

It said the 2013-14 schedule will be released "in the near future."
