Update on Sims, more

General manager David Franke said the Komets have yet to "finalize" anything, as it pertains to the coaching situation. So coach Al Sims, who won championships in 1993, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012, remains blowing in the wind.

Franke said it could be a couple weeks before the team makes an announcement.

Don't fret, though; I think it will be much sooner.

It's funny how often people ask me about Indianapolis -- when/if it will happen -- and I just don't have much to tell you beyond the annual rumors. But I can tell you, even from afar, it's clearly a divisive issue on whether there should be professional or junior hockey there. From the people I speak to on it, though, pros is the preference. But I'm sure another reporter would have another take.
