Police in Ohio shoot man who won't drop shotgun

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Columbus police say a man who refused to drop a shotgun he was holding is in stable condition after police shot him.

Police were called to a house just after 8 p.m. Sunday and were told by three people that a man inside had pulled a gun on them. Officers found the man holding a shotgun, which he refused to put down.

Authorities say the suspect was hit multiple times and taken to Grant Medical Center. Neither officer was injured.

Police say numerous weapons were recovered and that alcohol and drugs appear to be a factor in the shooting.

The suspect's name is being withheld pending the filing of criminal charges.
