The Blob is not and never has been an NBA-centric zone, but I have to say it's kind of fun listening to all the dissect-eration going on after all the Game 1s this weekend. Given that the NBA playoffs last longer than the Hundred Years War, it's kind of like reading the first sentence of one of Stephen King's doorstop novels and accurately predicting how it will turn out.
After all, with the Game 1s in the books, here is what we can conclude:
1. The Miami Heat is awesome and unstoppable.
2. The Indiana Pacers are awesome and unstoppable.
3. The Oklahoma City Thunder is awesome and unstoppable.
4, 5, 6 and 7: The Lakers stink without Kobe; the Bulls stink without a healthy Joakim; the Bucks and Rockets just stink; Carmelo shoots too much but that's OK because the Knicks are still better than the Celtics.
Out of all of that, Nos. 4, 5, 6 and 7 are probably the most true. Nos. 1, 2 and 3 can't possibly all be true, because when it's all said and done, only one team is going to be unstoppable.
In other words: Nobody's proved nuttin' yet.
Ah, but wait until after Game 2 ...
