Jay County heads to ACAC

The Jay County school board voted unanimously today to join the Allen County Athletic Conference.

The move was one of mutual benefit in a quickly changing Indiana high school conference landscape, with the Northeast Hoosier Conference set to fold in 2015. The ACAC, Adams Central athletic director Rick Minnich said, is trying to be proactive in order to remain an entity in the years to come.

Jay County was a perfect fit in all aspects.

"We don't want to be a conference of five or six or seven," Adams said. "We are glad they're in. We think they'll be a good addition to our conference. They offer every sport that could possibly be out there, and we're already playing them – Central – we play them in six or seven sports already."
