Bookkeeper linked to theft of $46,615

While working as a bookkeeper, a woman stole more than $45,000 from a limousine service company in Fort Wayne, according to court documents filed Friday.

Shelly Shaffer, a former employee of Club Car Limo, faces a charge of felony theft. A warrant has been issued for her arrest.

Shaffer, 51, of Auburn worked for the company from August 2008 until February 2013, court documents stated.

During that time, she used the company’s money to pay for charges at Sears, phone bills and utility bills, totaling $46,615.28, court documents said.
