TinCaps trail 4-3 through 3rd

A couple quick hits in the first inning have the TinCaps in a hole early against the Lansing Lugnuts.

A few blasts of their own put Fort Wayne right back in the game at the end of the third, with the Lugnuts ahead 4-3.

Fort Wayne starter Max Fried opened his outing by giving up a single and a stolen base, then gave up a triple to the third batter in the inning, Gustavo Pierre. A fielder's choice scored another run for the Lugnuts, who have teed off on Fried, who has not looked comfortable today.

In the top of the third, Lansing picked up a couple more runs off a double from Christian Lopes. But the TinCaps, who had one hit entering the bottom of the inning, went to work on Roberto Osuna.

Stephen Carmon started the inning with a single, and Corey Adamson followed with a double. A groundout by Maxx Tissenbaum scored one, and after a wild pitch by Osuna, the TinCaps had cut a 4-0 deficit in half.

Dane Phillips then took a 3-1 pitch and lofted it over the wall in right-center field to bring Fort Wayne within one.

Despite some high pitch counts for both starters, neither team has any relief up in the bullpen as of now.
