A two-county chase that started west of Warsaw saw speeds in excess of 100 mph, police said.

At 8:26 p.m. Tuesday, Warsaw narcotics and Kosciusko County drug task force officers went to a mobile home park on County Road 100 South, about four miles west of Warsaw, to serve warrants, the Warsaw Police Department said in a statement.

Officers reported seeing a green Pontiac drive up and then quickly leave as the occupants noticed police were there. As the car left, police said items commonly used to make meth were tossed out the windows.

Officers tried to stop the car, but it took off, reaching speeds of more than 100 mph down County Road 100 South to Indiana 25 through Mentone and into Marshall County, the statement said.

After about 9 minutes, it said, the Pontiac stopped at Apple Road and Indiana 25, and the men inside were arrested.

Chase J. Burnau, 19, of Akron, Ind., was charged with dealing/manufacturing methamphetamine, felony possession of meth precursors and felony fleeing law enforcement.

A passenger in the Pontiac, Michael N. Raider, 58, of Stanton, Ky., was charged with dealing/manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of meth precursors.

Both were being held without bond Wednesday at the Kosciusko County Jail.

The Warsaw department said it was assisted by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Indiana State Police, Mentone Police, Akron Police, the Marshall County Sheriff's Department and the Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
