Armed robbers hit realty office

Two men robbed a local business at gunpoint Wednesday, police said.

Paul Eisaman, owner of Eisaman Property Management and Realty, 2109 S. Calhoun St., said he was downstairs in an office with several employees when two men wearing masks entered the building through the front door about 5 p.m.

Both men were armed with handguns and one pointed a gun in his face, Eisaman said.

The men told Eisaman to open the safe where cash from rent collection is stored. The money is collected from residents of about 700 apartments and houses and was a large sum. The business is no longer accepting cash, Eisaman said.

The men then forced Eisaman and the employees into a bathroom and placed a desk in front of the door. There were no reported injuries.

Fort Wayne police responded to the scene at 5:07 p.m., but the two robbers had already fled, according to police reports.
