The Purdue men's basketball program granted its second scholarship release in two days as sophomore Jacob Lawson decided to leave the school.
Lawson, a 6-foot-8 forward, makes his exit just a day after the Boilermakers announced Sandi Marcius' departure. Lawson played in 28 games this season, starting 10, and averaged 11 minutes, 2.3 points and two rebounds per game.
"We enjoyed having Jacob as a member of our program for two years," Purdue coach Matt Painter said in as statement. "He's a quality young man, and we wish him the best moving forward."
Neither Lawson or Marcius were major contributors for the squad, although the loss of the duo could hurt the Boilermakers' depth at forward this coming season. Purdue has four forwards on its current roster.
