LaGrange schools to increase police presence

Because of recent publicized threats against schools in Elkhart County, LaGrange County Sheriff Terry Martin has spoken with county school officials and arranged to increase patrols and police presence in general for the next few days.

There are no specific threats against LaGrange county schools, the sheriff's department said in a statement issued Thursday afternoon.

The threat found in Elkhart County says that 20 students will be killed on April 15, and districts in that county have raised security efforts.

The LaGrange sheriff's announcement said," It is very important not to overreact" to the schools' having more officers, particularly because no threat has been made to schools in the county.
