Thunderstorms head this way

FORT WAYNE – Northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio can expect to see thunderstorms from mid-morning Wednesday through the evening.

The National Weather Service in northern Indiana said locally heavy rainfall is possible in some areas and that an isolated storm might produce hail south of U.S. 6.

More storms are forecast Thursday, with the heaviest rains expected to be east of Interstate 69.

The weather said the following counties are in the path of the storm system:

  • Indiana – Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, Whitley, LaPorte, St. Joseph, Elkhart, Starke, Pulaski, Marshall, Fulton, White, Cass, Miami, Grant, Blackford and Jay.
  • Ohio – Williams, Fulton, Defiance, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Allen.
The weather advisory included the communities of South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart, Goshen, LaGrange, Topeka, Angola, Kendallville, Ligonier, Auburn, Garrett, Knox, North Judson, Winamac, Francesville, Plymouth, Bremen, Rochester, Warsaw, Winona Lake, Columbia City, South Whitley, Fort Wayne, Monticello, Brookston, Logansport, Peru, Wabash, North Manchester, Huntington, Bluffton, Ossian, Decatur, Berne, Marion, Hartford City, Montpelier, Bryan, Wauseon, Archbold, Defiance, Napoleon, Paulding, Antwerp, Ottawa, Pandora, Van Wert, Delphos and Lima.
