Crash injuries kill woman, 75

A 75-year-old Angola woman has died from injuries sustained in a two-car crash in northern Allen County last month that injured three people.

Doris M. Bockius died Wednesday at a Fort Wayne hospital, according to a statement issued by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

A Cadillac going north on Tonkel Road at a high rate of speed rear-ended an Impala headed the same direction, causing the Impala to flip and roll several times before stopping in a field, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department said for an earlier story.

Bockius was a passenger in the Impala.

About 3:45 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to the crash scene on Tonkel, just south of Schlatter Road. The man driving the Impala was taken to a hospital in serious condition.

The Cadillac driver, a man, was taken to a hospital in good condition.

All three were wearing seat belts when the crash happened, the department said.
