Santa Cruz too much for Ants

There really wasn't much strategy to Santa Cruz's 124-118 victory over the Mad Ants on Wednesday. Get the ball to the big guy inside.

Jeremy Tyler, Santa Cruz's 6-foot-10, 260-pound center, scored 34 points - 21 in the fourth quarter - to simply out-man the Mad Ants.

Tommy Smith and Brandon Wallace each fouled out, trying to stop Tyler, who was 11 of 14 from the floor and 12 of 15 from the free throw line. Chris Porter had four fouls in the attempt.

The Ants got another big game from 6-6 Tony Mitchell, who led the way with 40 points. It was his third 40-point game this season.

The Mad Ants trail 1-0 in the best-of-three playoffs, which resume Saturday in Santa Cruz. Game three, if necessary, will be Sunday.
