IPFW computer science student advisers join Lakeland High School senior physics student Robert Arend, second from left, and his classmates in watching a slot-car race at IPFW on Monday. Arend was the winner in a race to program an RFID reader to count the laps of the racers. Students from Lakeland and Columbia City high schools took part in the workshop featuring electromagnetic applications. The workshops were designed to help achieve NASA’s workforce goals for northeast Indiana at IPFW.
