Boy, 11, fair after hit-and-run

An 11-year-old boy was struck by a hit-and-run driver Sunday morning while riding his bike on New Haven Avenue, police said.

The boy was listed in fair condition.

A Fort Wayne police spokesman, Jason Anthony, said the child was riding eastbound near the 3300 block of New Haven Avenue about 11:30 a.m. when a car pulled out in front of him at Fleetwood Avenue.

The driver of the brown four-door car with dark tinted windows has not been found, he said.

Detailed information about the make, model and year of the car had not been determined. But the police believe it could be an older Buick.
