    Aaron Scott went 3 for 3 with two doubles and a triple as the Canterbury baseball team held on to defeat Churubusco 10-8 Saturday.The Cavaliers (2-1) four runs in the second, five in the fifth and one in the sixth.
  • North Side edges Carroll on road
    North Side beat Carroll 4-2 on the road in baseball Friday.The Redskins scored two runs in the first inning, one in the fifth and one in the seventh. Keegan Carroll picked up the win, despite allowing 10 hits.

    On a sunny April evening at Canterbury’s softball field, Allie Brumbaugh swung and missed on two straight balls batting left-handed and looked down at the third-base coaching area in frustration.

Class A softball champs pick up narrow victory

The defending Class A state softball champions haven’t lost their touch.

Lakewood Park Christian got a seven-hitter from ace Mikeila Boroff and staved off a late rally to clip Northridge 6-5 Saturday at Northridge. The win moved Lakewood Park to 3-0.

Boroff struck out seven, and Suzanne Grimm and Jamie Budreau each drove in two runs.


HOMESTEAD 15, CARSON CITY 8: The host Spartans struck for six runs in the second and five in the third to put away Carson City.

ADAMS CENTRAL 15, SOUTH ADAMS 3: A nine-run fourth for the Flying Jets ended this one after five innings at Adams Central. Isaac Soldner went 4 for 4 with a home run and drove in five runs.

ADAMS CENTRAL 3, BELLMONT 1: Isaac Luginbill muzzled the Braves with a two-hitter, striking out eight.


CARROLL 7, GREENFIELD CENTRAL 1: At Carroll, Katy Guebard shut down Greenfield with a two-hitter, striking out 11. Emily Cantanzarite and Maddy Peterson each had three hits and two RBI for the Chargers.

NORWELL 8-15, SOUTHERN WELLS 0-5: The visiting Knights got a three-hit shutout from Tiffany Williams in the opener and scored 12 runs in the first three innings in the nightcap to sweep the Raiders.

BLUFFTON 7, CENTRAL NOBLE 0: Kaitlyn Lovell spun a three-hit shutout at Bluffton, striking out 11.
