Vehicle hijacked from city gas station

– A car was stolen from a city gas station after another man asked the driver of the vehicle for a cigarette and then pointed a gun at him, police said.

The victim, who stopped at the Speedway Gas Station, 1222 N. Coliseum Blvd., shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday, was walking to the vehicle when he was approached by two men, said Fort Wayne police spokesman Jason Anthony.

Complete descriptions of the robbers were not available. The first robber asked the man if he could a cigarette and when the victim offered to give him one, the robber pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun and pointed it at the man, Anthony said.

The victim ran behind the gas station and when he returned, the car he was driving was missing, Anthony said.

The missing vehicle was described as a brown Buick LeSabre.

Police had no suspects late Sunday morning and were waiting for video camera footage from the gas station.
