Girl, 11, badly injured in Wells County go-kart accident

An 11-year-old Keystone girl was badly injured Saturday afternoon in a go-kart accident in Wells County, according to Indiana conservation officers.

About 3:30 p.m., an off-road go-kart driven by an 8-year-old Bluffton boy struck the girl on a private lot, conservation officers said.

Medics took the girl, Alexis Eckelbarger, to Bluffton Regional Medical Center with head injuries. She was later transferred to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, conservation officers said.

She was listed in critical but stable condition Saturday night.
