Mad Ants fall to Tulsa

Tony Mitchell continued his one-man assault on the bucket. But this time he couldn’t bail out the Mad Ants.

One night after he sealed the first playoff berth in franchise history by dropping 49 points on Sioux Falls, he hit Tulsa with 31 Saturday in the regular-season finale in Tulsa, Okla. But the 66ers hit back, taking a nine-point halftime lead and never letting the Ants get within arm’s length in a 101-87 victory.

The 66ers (27-23) outscored the Ants in every quarter, taking a 27-20 lead after one and a 54-45 advantage into halftime. They outrebounded the Ants (27-23) 45-36 and limited them to 41.8 percent shooting (34 of 82).

The Ants were 7 of 21 from the three-point line and turned it over 22 times.

Besides Mitchell, four other players hit double figures for Fort Wayne. But none scored more than Sadiel Rojas and Chris Porter, who each had 13.

For Tulsa, Indiana Tech product Rodney Bartholomew was 10 of 10 from the field and led five players in double figures with 21 points.
