Moped rider critically injured in crash with pickup

FORT WAYNE – A moped and pickup truck making turns collided Friday morning east of downtown leaving the moped rider fighting for his life, city police said.

The blue moped and the maroon GMC Sonoma were making turns on South Anthony Boulevard at East Washington Boulevard about 10:15 a.m. when they collided, according to a written statement from the department.

It said the moped rider was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and that the pickup driver was transported in fair condition.
