WANE reporter spared jail time

Reust

A 26-year-old WANE-TV reporter pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving, and was given a 180-day suspended jail sentence.

Megan Reust was arrested over St. Patrick’s Day weekend on a suspicion of drunken driving. She was charged with two misdemeanor counts of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, as well as an infraction for speeding.

She pleaded guilty in Allen Superior Court’s misdemeanor and traffic division to a Class B misdemeanor charge of reckless driving and was given a suspended sentence. Reust must also pay more than $500 in fines and costs, according to court records.

Her driver’s license was not suspended, officials said.
