SOUTH BEND – About 450 youths from around the country are attending a three-day conference in northern Indiana aimed at steering kids away from drugs and bullying.
The South Bend Tribune reports South Bend is hosting the PRIDE Worldwide Drug Prevention Conference. Crawfordsville PRIDE group Deborah Kochert says the program is a peer-to-peer prevention outreach program.
One of the conference’s coordinators, Kara Beck, says the conference that runs through Saturday serves as a chance for local groups from across the country to meet, attend workshops and training sessions, and get updated educational materials. She says it also helps members get re-energized.
