The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Thursday that battery-operated Hot Wheels branded Urban Shredder ride-on toys are being recalled.
Marketed as the "ultimate boys' holiday gift" this Christmas season, they had only been on the market since November, according to Thursday's announcement.
Dynacraft has received 17 reports of the Urban Shredders accelerating unexpectedly, the announcement said. No injuries have been reported.
Anyone with an Urban Shredder was urged to stop using it immediately, take out the battery and return it to the store where it was purchased for a refund or store credit.
They were sold at Target, Toys R Us and Walmart stores and online at Amazon.com, Target.com, ToysRUs.com and Walmart.com for $270 to $350.
They were made by Heshan Congtin Technological Development Co. Ltd. in China, the announcement said.
