News and notes

1) This is the season opener for both squads and the start of a seven-game road trip for the TinCaps, who start their season in Fort Wayne on April 11.

2) It will be the first of 14 meetings between the TinCaps and the Loons.

3) Ross, a first-round selection by the Padres in 2011, returns to the Fort Wayne roster after an arm injury hobbled him throughout most of May and June of last year. He finished out his 2012 season in Eugene, Ore., with the Emeralds.
