JG local news staff gets new boss

Lisa Green has been promoted to assistant managing editor/local news for The Journal Gazette.

She replaces Tom Germuska Jr., who resigned after accepting another job.

Green joined The Journal Gazette as business editor nearly 13 years ago. She previously worked at the Rockford Register Star in Rockford, Ill., where she was a reporter, assistant city editor, city editor and assistant business editor. While with the Register Star, she also completed a four-month reporting “loan” for the Money section at USA Today.

At The Journal Gazette, Green will lead a combined local news staff of business and metro reporters. She will work with assistant metro editors Jim Chapman, the night city editor; Joyce McCartney, the day city editor; and Ron Shawgo, enterprise editor.
