Local design firm gets McMillen job

Fort Wayne design company MSKTD & Associates Inc. has been chosen to manage the renovation of the McMillen Park Community Center, a Legacy Fund project.

The project will renovate the McMillen Park Ice Arena – which now sits empty – into a community center for all ages that will include sports and recreation as well as educational, social, and health and fitness programs. MSKTD was one of seven companies that submitted proposals for the project and was given final approval by the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department.

The project is expected to cost about $2 million and be completed in 2014.

The Legacy Fund was created from the lease and sale of the city’s old electric utility, City Power & Light.
