More charges filed in store assault

A 26-year-old man accused of exposing himself and assaulting a woman in a Fort Wayne thrift store faces additional charges.

Derek A. Eccard was preliminarily charged with felony public indecency and sexual battery charges. On Thursday, a felony charge of attempted criminal deviate conduct was added.

Eccard was convicted of public indecency in July 2010.

According to court documents, Eccard exposed himself in the north-side store Saturday and was asked to leave.

He then grabbed the woman, a store worker, and forced her head down. After struggling with Eccard, the woman broke loose and ran from the store, court documents said.

Eccard was being held at the Allen County Lockup in lieu of $15,000 bail.
