Indiana Chamber leader: Voucher program puts us on course

Indiana Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Kevin Brinegar issued the following statement Tuesday after the state high court’s voucher ruling:

“We are pleased that the Indiana Supreme Court unanimously upheld Indiana’s school choice scholarship (voucher) law. The Indiana Chamber of Commerce supports high quality educational opportunities for all Hoosier children – be that in a traditional public school, charter school, private school or parochial school.

“Therefore, the Indiana Chamber fully supports policies that will assist parents in choosing and accessing the best educational settings for their children. The state’s school choice voucher program puts us on course to achieve that. Current legislation pending in the General Assembly (House Bill 1003) would further strengthen the program and allow more families to access the quality education of their choice at the start of their children’s education.”
