Ants take third

The Mad Ants took over third place in the D-League East Division with a 107-93 victory over Maine on Thursday at Memorial Coliseum.

The Ants (22-21) jumped over the Red Claws (23-23) in their quest to reach the D-League playoffs for the first time in franchise history.

Fort Wayne held Maine to 11 third-quarter points to run a 55-48 halftime advantage into a 77-59 lead going into the final period.

Ron Howard led six players in double figures with 20 points, but three had double-doubles. Brandon Wallace had 16 points and 13 rebounds, Tommy Smith had 14 points and 11 boards, and Terrance Thomas had 12 points and 12 assists.
