Komets add defenseman; Chaulk placed on IR

Defenseman Mathieu Gagnon has been added to the Komets' roster, and is expected to be in the lineup for tonight's game against Reading, the team announced today.

Center Colin Chaulk has been placed on 21-day injured reserve, the Komets said in a statement.

Gagnon, 20, has played three seasons with Shawinigan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. At Whitecourt in the Alberta Junior Hockey League this year, he appeared in 35 games, with three goals, 16 assists and 259 penalty minutes.

Chaulk, the assistant coach to Al Sims, has played 28 games this season, with two goals and 22 assists.
