Boilers begin spring football

WEST LAFAYETTE - It's opening day of football practice in the Darrell Hazell era at Purdue.

The decision was made to move practice inside the Mollenkopf Center due to the strong winds.

Since practices are open to the public (Hazell's call), it's a fairly crowded sideline as the players work out of their position groups spread across the full-size field.

The practice is broken down into segments. This is No. 5, with four minutes left on the clocks that are attached at both ends.

The media has been told we're allowed to video only segments 8 through 12. After that, all cameras are off.

We'll be talking to Hazell, and a few other players once practice is over.
