AWP team wins tournament

The AWP Sports' 7-on-7 football team won the regional championship last weekend at Youngstown State.

The title qualifies AWP for the New Level Athletics Nationals in Las Vegas in June. New Haven's Jordan Hogue was named the team offensive MVP and South Side's Donovan Clark was the team defensive MVP.

Also on the team from northeast Indiana are Concordia's David Morrison, Bishop Dwenger's Mike Fiacable, Bishop Luers' Austin Mack, Bishop Dwenger's Ryan Wattercutter, Wayne's Zack Ryan and Kye Black, Snider's Andreas Gomez, Heritage's Carlos Sanchez, North Side's D'Marcus Moon, Bishop Luers' JyQuel Jemison, Carroll's Drue and Justin Tranquill, Northrop's Andre Hamilton and South Side's Shaton Harris.

Coaches are Antoine Taylor, Dre Muhammad, Derek Moore, Virgil Tharp and Carl Thomas.
