Irish in the polls

The Notre Dame men's and women's basketball teams each held onto spots in the Associated Press Top 25s.

The Irish women (31-1) remained at No. 2 in the AP poll behind No. 1 Baylor. Notre Dame is expected to receive a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament when the women's bracket is announced tonight on ESPN.

The Irish men (25-9) moved up one spot in the AP poll, going from No. 24 to No. 23. Notre Dame is a No. 7 seed in the NCAA tournament and begins play against No. 10 seed Iowa State at 9:45 p.m. Friday in Dayton.

The Journal Gazette's Assistant Sports Editor Tony Krausz covers The University of Notre Dame.
