Hudson woman flees police with 4 children

A Hudson woman was arrested late Friday night after fleeing from police with her four children in the vehicle, Indiana State Police said.

Jilyan Janelle Snyder, 29, was arrested on charges of resisting law enforcement, possession of methamphetamine and four counts of neglect of a dependent, state police at Fort Wayne said in a statement.

At about 11 p.m. Friday, a state police trooper attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Snyder on a traffic violation near County Road 650 North and County Road 1100 East in LaGrange County, the statement said.

It said Snyder fled west from the officer, leading him on a short pursuit as a passenger in the vehicle threw items out a window.

About five minutes later, the vehicle came to a stop with a flat tire on Indiana 120 and County Road 475 East, the statement said. Snyder was arrested, but a 25-year-old passenger in the vehicle was not charged. The passenger's identity has not been released.

Snyder's four children -- ages six to 13 -- also were in the car at the time of the incident, police said. They said an unknown amount of methamphetamine was found inside Snyder's purse at the time of her arrest.

Snyder also had warrants for her arrest in Noble County, alleging possession of meth and visiting a common nuisance, police said. She was being held Saturday in the LaGrange County Jail.
