  • Softball season ends
    Jessica Hall gave up only three hits to IPFW and the UCLA softball team defeated the Mastodons 8-0 on Saturday to end IPFW's season at the NCAA Regional in Louisville, Ky.
  • Mastodons to regionals
    IPFW senior Theresa McHugh and freshman Rachel Dincoff have earned spots at the NCAA East Region Preliminary Championships, which begins May 23 in Greensboro, N.C.
  • Softball players honored
    IPFW junior Ashleigh Bousquet and sophomore Larissa Franklin were named to the Summit League Softball Academic All-League team, as voted on by the schools’ faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors.

IPFW falls to Long Beach State

IPFW's brief run through ranked opponents came to an end Saturday with a 3-0 loss at No. 3-ranked Long Beach State.

The Mastodons (9-8) had beaten No. 15 George Mason on Thursday, and prior to that, downed No. 10 Penn State.

IPFW took Long Beach State into an extra point in the first set, losing 26-24, and lost the next two sets 25-17 and 25-20.

Eddie Rivera led IPFW with 11 kills, and Andy Sellan had 10.

The Mastodons return home with a Thursday match against Ball State, and will face Ohio State on Saturday.
