IU trails Wisconsin at half

CHICAGO – Indiana trails Wisconsin 34-31 at halftime in the Big Ten tournament semifinals in the United Center.

The No. 1 seed Hoosiers built a 22-16 lead with 7:55 to play in the first half, but the No. 4 seed Badgers responded with a 10-0 run to go up 26-22 with 4:41 left in the half.

IU never got closer than two points of the lead, but the Hoosiers scored the last five points of the half on a Cody Zeller putback and Christian Watford three-pointer to trail by three at the half.

Indiana made 12 of 27 shots (44.4 percent) and caused eight Wisconsin turnovers. The Badgers average just 9.7 turnovers.

Christian Watford and Victor Oladipo each have 8 points for Indiana, and Cody Zeller has 6.

Ryan Evans scored 10 for Wisconsin, which holds a 17-12 rebounding edge, and Ben Brust has 7.
