Doctor accused of sexual assault on patient

VALPARAISO, Ind. – A physician is facing sexual battery charges, accused of assaulting a female patient on two occasions at his northern Indiana office.

Forty-five-year-old Jose Agusti of Chicago was taken into custody Thursday and charged with felony criminal deviate conduct and two counts of sexual battery.

The Times of Munster reports (http://bit.ly/ZN5pIJ) that court documents said the disabled veteran told Valparaiso police in September that Agusti had just sexually assaulted her.

Police fitted the woman with a camera and microphone and she returned to Agusti’s Valparaiso office on Oct. 15. Court documents say the footage shows Agusti tapping his lap and asking the woman “Do you want to play with me?” before hugging and groping her.

Agusti remained jailed Friday at the Porter County Jail in Valparaiso.
