GOP women take over the Statehouse

The Allen County Republican Women's Club had a full day at the Indiana Statehouse Tuesday, arriving at the Capitol following a 5:30 a.m. start time in Fort Wayne.

The busload of women -- along with several kids serving as pages, a few men and a few liberals -- attended committee hearings, enjoyed boxed lunches in the atrium and watched the House and Senate in session.

The highlights, though, were a tour of the Governor's residence, where they met First Lady Karen Pence.

Senate President Pro Tem David Long, R-Fort Wayne, also spoke to the group, which received a tour of the Statehouse and ended the day meeting Gov. Mike Pence (and taking a group photo with him).

The group was going to catch dinner and be home in Fort Wayne by 9 p.m.
