Statement as issued by the lieutenant governor’s office:
Indianapolis – Lt. Governor Ellspermann has awarded a $30,000 planning grant to the Town of Wolcottville to fund a Downtown Revitalization Plan through the state’s Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
“Planning grants are an important first step as communities consider the best way to attract new businesses,” said Lt. Governor Ellspermann. “The Town of Wolcottville continues its efforts to improve services for its residents, and we’re pleased to be able to support their grant request.”
The planning grant for the Town of Wolcottville will be used to evaluate existing downtown conditions and provide guidance for improving the downtown district.
The funding comes from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, which has proven to be an effective tool for community-based planning and research initiatives. The CDBG program is administered by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
