Albion driver 'critical' after Noble crash

An Albion man was badly hurt in a collision with a semi Thursday in Noble County, according to the sheriff’s department.

John McCoy, 60, was headed east on U.S. 6, west of Indiana 9, when the crash happened. Driving a 1988 Plymouth Reliant, McCoy crossed the center line for an unknown reason, the sheriff’s department said.

The car hit the trailer of a westbound semi, and McCoy was pinned in the wreckage until emergency crews freed him.

He was flown to Parkview Regional Medical Center with a broken leg and ribs, the sheriff’s department said.

He was in critical condition Friday evening, hospital staff said. The semi driver, Sukhdev Sohi, 65, of Brampton, Ontario, was not injured, according to the sheriff’s department.
